MB News | Centre Pompidou groundbreaking exhibition soon to take place in Shanghai
As announced to the press on June 7th, 2016, the exceptional exhibition Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou 1906-1977, co-organized by the Centre Pompidou and Shanghai Tix Media, will be presented in Shanghai from October 7, 2016 to January 15, 2017 at Shanghai Exhibition Center.
MB Projects is proud to have introduced this show to the organizer in Shanghai and is very happy to be playing an instrumental role in its organization and planning.
Co-curated by Mr. Laurent Le Bon and Mrs. Claire Garnier (respectively President and Deputy Director of the Collections and the Production of Musée National Picasso in Paris), Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou will showcase a panorama of art in France from 1906 to 1977. The exhibition proposes an original curatorial concept, based on one work per year and per artist, including world famous masters such as Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, etc. to lesser known though very important names. It will be a celebration, an opportunity to share the wealth of the collections of the prestigious Centre Pompidou and a milestone of the French History of Art in the 20th century with the Chinese public in all breadth and variety: from sculptures and installations to paintings and drawings, photography, film or design.
Over a three-month period, Masterpieces will also be a unique opportunity for the public to discover or to explore Western modern art history, through a variety of documents and explanations, screenings, talks and conferences, educational programs and family tours.
The press conference took place on June 7th, 2016 at Shanghai Exhibition Centre, in the presence of Mr. Laurent Le Bon, President of Musée Picasso Paris, Mr. Michael Schischke, Head of International relations of the Centre Pompidou, Mr. Robert Lacombe, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of France in China, and Mr. Xie Dingwei, Founder and Director of Tix Media.
