Cartier, the Power of Magic opens at Shanghai Museum East
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Cartier and the Shanghai Museum have come together once again for the exhibition Cartier, The Power of Magic. MB Projects is proud to have accompanied Cartier Collection for the second time in an exhibition in China, after Beyond Boundaries at the Palace Museum in 2019.
A show about the power of magic and the magic intrinsic to jewels, Cartier, the Power of Magic features more than 300 exquisite pieces from the Cartier Collection including jewelry, watches, and other archival documents alongside more than 30 Chinese cultural relics, creating a profound dialogue that spans six sections: The Glory of Symbol, The Home of Spirit, The Land of Creativity, The Charm of Personality, The Philosophy of Eternity, and A Glimpse of the Cartier Story. The exhibition opened to the public on November 6th, 2024 and will be on display until February 17th, 2025 at Shanghai Museum East.
Cartier, the Power of Magic, has been included in both the Sino-French Cultural Spring Art Festival and the Franco-Chinese Year of Cultural Tourism’s program, and seeks to immerse viewers in a journey that covers a century of magical creation. This exhibition is the second collaboration between Cartier and the Shanghai Museum after The Art of Cartier in 2004, and the 8th exhibition of Cartier Collection in China.
MB Projects has been supporting Cartier in their projects in China since 2017, both through Fondation Cartier digital communication and exhibitions, and Cartier Collection exhibitions. For Cartier, the Power of Magic, MB Projects has trained a team of docents to provide the mediation for the exhibition in Chinese, English and French, and supported private visits and tours throughout the duration of the exhibition.
