FCF | France China Foundation 2018 Gala Dinner at the Château de Versailles in Paris

On May 16, 2018, the France China Foundation held its second Annual Gala Dinner at the emblematic Château de Versailles, under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and in attendance of Prime Minister and former Young Leader of the France China Foundation Edouard Philippe.

Conceived as a time for meetings and discussions and dedicated to the celebration of the Franco-Chinese friendship, the Gala gathered nearly 500 guests, including former Prime Ministers Laurent Fabius and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, famous actresses Juliette Binoche and Gong Li, French violinist Renaud Capuçon, Chinese pianist Xue Yingjia, Chinese artists, Yan Peiming, Wang Keping and Chen Man, leading personalities of the cultural sector, Sophie Makariou (director of the Musée Guimet) and Huang Hung, but also important business leaders such as Peter Viem Kwok (President, CITIC), Denis Duverne (Board Chairman, AXA), Yves Le Masne (Chief executive, ORPEA), Bruno Roger (Vice-Chairman, Lazard). A great number of the Foundation’s Young Leaders were also present, such as the starred chef Akrame Benallal, who was in charge of the dinner. A concert in the chapel of the Versailles Palace opened the ceremony, which ended with a great firework!

This event was organized to celebrate the annual Young Leader Program, in order to further nurture friendships between French and Chinese Young Leaders, linked by their common interest for the dialogue between both cultures.
