Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in Shanghai, Young Leaders and Friends of the France China Foundation gathered for a China Talk on “The Art Market in China”. Three exceptional speakers, all key players in the local art scene for more than 20 years, shared their experience and analysis of the current situation: gallerist Mathieu Borysevicz, director of BANK, art collector GAO Feng, founder and president of LOI Brand Management, and ZHANG Wenjia, China director of Phillips auction house.

The discussion revolved around the evolution of the Chinese art market and of its art collectors since the 90’s and more specifically today, the presence of Chinese artists on the international art market, and finally on the impact of Covid on the industry and the perspectives for a market that holds today the second place globally behind the United States.

The encounter, moderated by Marion Bertagna, director of MB Projects and representative of the FCF in China, was followed by a cocktail.

The France China Foundation (FCF) is a platform for dialogue between French and Chinese civil societies.
