MB News | Centre Pompidou – Creation of a Visitor’s Guide/WeChat Mini Program in Chinese
On December 16, 2019, the Centre Pompidou announced the launch of a brand new tool for the Chinese public: a WeChat mini program offering a visitor’s guide to the permanent collections of the Museum. Thanks to this digital tool, specifically designed for them, the Chinese visitors will have access to in-depth information about the artworks, artists, and movements which shaped the 20th century’s art history. MB Projects is very proud to have created this mini program and its content, in partnership with Como Network.
In connection with its #PompidouVIP campaign, launched in Paris on December 11, and in an effort to develop convenient tools for a growing Chinese audience, the Centre Pompidou decided, in complement to its existing Chinese social networks accounts, to create a specific mini program dedicated to the presentation and explanation of the important masterpieces of the museum’s permanent collections, both modern and contemporary, exhibited on the 4th and 5th floors of the building.
Through a selection of 10-15 artworks for each period, the visitor is offered the choice of two journeys through art history, which he/she can either read through or listen to. Each artwork is thoughtfully introduced and explained, and further information is accessible through links towards pages presenting leading artists and important movements in art history. The mini program can be used on-site in front of the artworks, or at home to prepare or to complement the visit or simply to discover the collections of the Centre Pompidou from a distance.
The mini program will be progressively completed with additional journeys and information, offering the public a richness and variety of information. The first two journeys available include a modern art journey, with masterpieces by Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and many more essential figures of the 20th century. The second journey is an introduction to contemporary art, with a selection of 10 stunning and immersive pieces from the 1960’s to today, including Beuys, Ben, Agam, Louise Bourgeois just to name a few.
