MB News | “Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou: 1906-1977” is open!

MB Projects is happy to announce the official opening of “Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou: 1906-1977” in Shanghai. 71 exceptional artworks from the collections of one of the most important museums of modern and contemporary art in the world are now on view at Shanghai Exhibition Center, until January 15, 2017. This exhibition is a unique opportunity for the Chinese public to explore the adventure of Western Modern Art from 1906 to 1977. MB Projects is very proud to have introduced this exhibition in China and to have been instrumental in its organization.

“Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou” was officially inaugurated on October 11, 2016, in the presence of Mr. Serge Lasvignes, president of the Centre Pompidou, Mr. Laurent Le Bon, president of Paris Picasso Museum and co-curator of the exhibition, Mr. Axel Cruau, Consul general of France in Shanghai, and Mr. Xie Dingwei, president of Tix Media, the organizer of the exhibition in Shanghai. A press conference was held the same day in front of nearly 100 media.

More than 3000 visitors flocked to the Exhibition Center to discover the treasures presented in the show, including priceless works by Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Kandinsky, among 72 great masters in all fields of creation, including painting, sculpture, photography, design, and architecture. The public was impressed by such an aggregation of masterpieces and iconic works of art history, and mesmerized by the surprising visual associations created by the original open scenography designed by French architect Margo Renisio. The lucky visitors could listen to an exceptional presentation of the artworks by curator Laurent Le Bon.

“Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou” will run in Shanghai until January 15, 2017. It is jointly organized by Tix-Media and Centre Pompidou. The exhibition was introduced by and organized with the help of MB Projects. It is supported by the French Consulate in Shanghai and the Shanghai International Culture Association. It is sponsored by Volkswagen (Phideon) as a title sponsor, as well as Champagne Perrier-Jouët, Perrier, and Artsky.
